Back in 2006 I when I came to know about Blogging, I started looking out for a few interesting blogs in the 'blogosphere'. This lead a decision that changed my life's course.
When I started my own blog back then on Blogger (a free blog hosting service) I did not have much idea about what exactly to write in it and usually just published jokes which I found interesting. I never took blogging very seriously back then.
One day I asked myself “Why not make myself a Jokes Blog separately so that I could focus on just that topic?” and this made me make a new jokes blog named Top Jokes Blog.
Through this blog I learnt the ways of earning money through blogging, what is SEO and how to attract visitors to your blog or site. Slowly my jokes blog grew in popularity and I started to spend more time on blogging than ever before. After about a year I got exhausted with my Jokes dictionary and started to loose interest in it even though I was making a small amount of money through it.
In 2007 I started another blog and this time I decided I would not blog about just one topic in it. I started lifeOmaniac in which I just blogged about my life and a few posts on the things that interested me in the tech world. Back then lifeOmaniac did not have a good reader base and wasn't even noticed in the huge blogosphere. Now lifeOmaniac has a somewhat wide user base and is ranked well on various ranking sites. It now covers a diverse range of topics such as Current Affairs, Internet & Technology, apart from chronicling my life; though I do not dedicate much time now on it after I founded NextPlug.in
NextPlug.in is India's first blog network and one of the world's first and only single-domain blog network.
Now I am part time Blogger and blog on a few blogs including corporate blogs. I have had the priviledge to guest post on many blogs too.
As a blogger too I gained many windows in the blogosphere. I have been featured on many blogging sites and all this helped me gain exposure which in turn helped me gain a few readers for my blog.
From the time I started blogging till now, I learnt a lot from it. I learnt how to write good content, how to do blog marketing, how to optimize blogs and sites for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) and many other interesting things. Basically it helped me to make a good place for myself in the huge and ever growing blogosphere.
